For those who did not see Nancy Knowlton in the "Green Issue" of Vanity Fair, May 2007, here it is (page 217) picturing Nancy looking lovely in kelp. This "Global Citizen" section gives tribute to "The Minds Aquatic." Fantastic! |

I found this old photo at my mom’s house 60 years to the day after it was taken. It is of my dad (with the tie) and Nancy Knowlton’s dad (with the bowtie) and is dated December 28, 1946. It was taken at my grandfather’s house and I’m sure Mr. Knowlton dropped by to say hello during the holidays and to share a scotch with his old friend. Beverly Madden-Bishop |

These may have been taken at one of our numerous "sleep overs"---or perhaps at a party? I noted the people that I think I recognize. Hope you are enjoying these as much as I have. This is the FIRST time most of these photos have seen the light of day in over 45 years! Katrinka (Katy) Green Quirk |

Several folks asked about my brother Tom. Sadly, he passed away in 1992. I love this picture of his "Beatnik Party." Tom is on the far right wearing the bold striped shirt. That`s Mark Tinker and Steve Lillis in the front and Cinny Cobb in the back (I think). I still have the painting of the bird, one of many works by my Mom, proudly hanging in the hallway.

I am on the right, and I think that is Alex Cummings on the left. We girls at Tokeneke spent long hours jumping rope (and hopping around on pogo sticks!). "Salt, Penalty, Mustard, Pepper."

My Dad was an artist and often worked from photos, so I have a number of pretty nice black and whites that capture the mood of the era pretty well I think. I would call this "Essesence of Little Brotherness."

Troop 130 marching in a parade! I think that is Yvette Martinez holding the Girl Scout banner and Robin Risque seond from the back. I`m guessing this is from around 1957-58? Katrinka (Katy) Green Quirk |

While in Kindergarten at Baker, Molly Smith and I took a ballet class which culminated in a production of Sleeping Beauty. Us munchkins got parts either as dasies or butterflies. Molly got to be a butterfly---lucky duck, while I was a daisy. But I LOVED my daisy costume, as you can see. I brought it to my Grandparents house and wore it to visit the farm next door---hence, "Ballerina (and her brother) Among the Cows"
